Marine Surveyor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Examine cargo that has sustained damage during transit and assess the nature, cause, and extent of the damages.

• Analyze documentation to ascertain when the cargo was compromised.

• Deliver written evaluations to underwriters and other stakeholders, providing a professional opinion on the cause of the loss.

• Supervise the loading and unloading processes of cargo from vessels and other transportation methods to accurately record damages.

• Assess damaged vessels to determine the reason and degree of damage incurred from collisions or mechanical failures.

• Carry out additional tasks as assigned.

• Contribute to the organization's quality initiatives.

• Travel as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is preferred.

• A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience or a comparable mix of education and experience is required.

• Strong oral and written communication abilities.

• Proficient in PC use, including Microsoft Office applications.

• Excellent customer service capabilities.

• Strong organizational skills.

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team setting.

• Capability to meet or exceed established Performance Competencies.

• Must be able to stand and/or walk for extended periods.

• Must have the ability to kneel, squat, or bend as necessary.

• Must be prepared to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, both hot and cold.

• Ability to climb, crawl, stoop, kneel, and work overhead as required.

• Must be able to push or pull weights up to 100 pounds.

• Must be capable of driving for up to 4 hours per day.

• Continuous manual dexterity is required.
