This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Japan.
• Collaborate with plant-level and corporate stakeholders at customer locations, including operators, engineers, IT, quality, and operations leadership.
• Oversee the design, construction, and implementation of tailored Tulip solutions for customers.
• Work closely with clients and partners to deploy solutions in active manufacturing settings.
• Implement solutions in live production environments with minimal disruption.
• Integrate with shop-floor systems such as PLCs, MES/ERP, and quality management systems.
• Manage machine data, events, and production contexts, including orders, materials, and routings.
• Diagnose and resolve complex issues that span software, data, and operational workflows.
• Act as the technical owner and authority for customer solutions that are deployed forward.
• Provide guidance on architecture, scalability, security, and reliability in regulated or high-availability settings.
• Document solutions and disseminate knowledge across internal teams.
• Communicate and collaborate with the broader customer team to strategize for success.
• Represent the customer’s voice to Product and Engineering teams and influence the product roadmap and feature design.
• Assist in generalizing customer-specific solutions into reusable product capabilities.
• Contribute to the development of internal processes, best practices, and cross-team collaboration.
• Partner with Account Executives, Customer Success Managers, Product Managers, and Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing, industrial software, or technology roles focused on manufacturing, including at least 4 years in direct, customer-facing or consulting positions.
• Ability to independently navigate a shop floor and identify opportunities for operational enhancements.
• Proficiency in Operations Technology, including MES, ERP, quality, or production systems; architecture and implementation experience is highly desirable.
• Experience in integrating systems and devices within manufacturing environments.
• Strong comprehension of manufacturing workflows, quality assurance, traceability, and operational constraints.
• Proven track record of leading complex technical or operational initiatives from start to finish.
• Excellent project management, organizational, and communication skills.
• Comfortable and experienced in engaging in technically deep conversations with customers.
• Ability to think creatively and strategically while providing practical solutions.
• Demonstrated commitment to understanding problems from the customer’s perspective.
• Quick learner with the ability to lead by example in ambiguous situations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
• Willingness to travel up to 75%.
• Business-level proficiency in English to communicate with the internal team and manage English knowledge databases.
• Business-level proficiency in Japanese to communicate with Japanese customers, internal teams, and handle Japanese materials.
• Must hold a valid Japanese work visa at the time of application; visa sponsorship is not available.
