Manufacturing Development Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Vietnam.

📋 Description

• Develop the maturity of manufacturing DFA and conduct comprehensive DFA analysis to achieve effective system assembly process solutions.

• Lead NPI CEM readiness, encompassing DFX, process qualifications, and manufacturing specifications.

• Create mechanical assembly processes, fixtures, and automation in collaboration with CEM partners.

• Oversee the development of assembly fixtures and jigs, process evaluation and validation, CEM assembly-readiness reviews, and manufacturing timelines.

• Ensure that CEM technical performance for system assembly complies with NVIDIA specifications and technological requirements.

• Assess tolerance capabilities to meet assembly gap and step specifications.

• Address NPI manufacturing assembly challenges, investigate product failures, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.

• Suggest technology aids, modifications in product design, and workspace layout adjustments to enhance quality and efficiency.

• Examine system assembly automation, perform time-and-motion studies, minimize cycle time and assembly waste, and propose cost-saving measures.

• Develop and coordinate schedules along with performance expectations, lead project management tasks, and establish processes to ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget.

• Involve CEM early in the process to cultivate manufacturing maturity alongside product design from inception through NPI and mass production.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, mechanical, manufacturing, or a related field, or equivalent; a master's degree in engineering is preferred.

• Over 5 years of mechanical assembly experience in a manufacturing setting within consumer electronics, GPU, automotive, or server industries.

• Hands-on experience in mechanical design and assembly.

• Practical knowledge of system assembly, system testing, and tolerance capabilities.

• Strong proficiency in CAD tools such as Creo.

• Excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail, ability to multitask, negotiation skills, presentation skills, technical and quality awareness, problem-solving abilities, collaboration, and analytical thinking.

• Experience with functional tolerance and/or geometric dimensioning and tolerance for intricate assemblies.

• Solid understanding of basic electrical circuits.

• Familiarity with all aspects of the NPI process.

• Good comprehension of commonly utilized testing and inspection methods and instruments.
