This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Sri Lanka.

📋 Description

• Develop and implement a strategic automation roadmap spanning five years.

• Define the technical parameters for manufacturing automation initiatives, including AGVs, robotics, and cobots.

• Oversee and manage intricate, long-term engineering projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to budgetary and scheduling constraints.

• Identify and execute automation opportunities in areas such as receiving, storage, material handling, coating, finishing, and shipping.

• Serve as a technical mentor, offering guidance and coaching to site-level technical teams.

• Collaborate with international teams to benchmark and share superior automation solutions globally.

• Act as the primary technical contact for significant contracts and projects on behalf of the organization.

• Engage with senior external stakeholders and internal leadership.

• Provide technical solutions to complex challenges as a member of the MG-NA Process Technology team.

• Report directly to the Technical Director.


⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related scientific discipline is mandatory.

• A Master's degree is preferred.

• At least 10+ years of engineering experience in controls/automation, including capital projects.

• A minimum of 7+ years of experience may be considered for candidates with a Master’s degree in engineering.

• Extensive knowledge and experience in the field of specialization.

• Strong proficiency in industrial electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.

• Capability to tackle challenging technical assignments independently.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD for creating and updating intricate drawings (P&IDs, PFDs).

• Familiarity with MS Project or Smartsheet for project management and tracking.

• Working knowledge of Six Sigma and ELS principles is preferred.

• Experience with high-volume manufacturing processes and capital equipment procurement.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to effectively interface with cross-functional teams to define and implement requirements.

• Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time, both domestically and internationally.
