Mandarin/Cantonese VRI/OPI Interpreter

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.

📋 Description

• Respond to calls professionally, adhering to the Interpreter's code of conduct.

• Always be ready to take notes during calls.

• Familiarize yourself with the specific terminology relevant to the healthcare and medical fields, with training provided.

• Accurately convey all messages in their entirety, without alterations or omissions.

• Deliver exceptional customer service throughout the interpretation process.

• Facilitate effective communication between Limited English Proficient individuals and Clients by providing precise and comprehensive interpretations.

• Implement standards of practice.

• Participate in internal professional training.

• Show enthusiasm for obtaining new professional certifications.

• Communicate and report to your team leader effectively.

• Adhere to the dress code requirements for video remote interpreting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in the source language (English) and a native speaker of the target language 'Cantonese/Mandarin.'

• At least 1 year of telephone interpretation experience with a reputable interpretation company is advantageous, but not essential.

• A solid understanding of medical terminology is beneficial, though not required.

• Familiarity with legal terminology is a plus.

• Possession of international certifications in the healthcare sector is advantageous (e.g., PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.).

• High school diploma in your native language.

• Strong emotional intelligence and respect for diverse cultures.

• Excellent communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention abilities.
