Mandarin VRI/OPI Interpreter

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.

📋 Description

• Respond to calls in a professional manner, adhering to the Interpreter's code of conduct.

• Always be prepared to take notes during calls.

• Familiarize yourself with the specific vocabulary related to the industry in which the interpreter operates, particularly in healthcare and medical fields - training will be provided for this.

• Accurately and completely convey all messages without adding, omitting, or substituting any information.

• Deliver the highest standard of customer service while interpreting.

• Facilitate communication between Limited English Proficient individuals and clients by providing accurate and complete interpretations of messages.

• Implement standards of practice.

• Participate in internal professional training.

• Show enthusiasm for obtaining new professional certifications.

• Maintain communication and report to your team leader.

• Adhere to dress code requirements for video remote interpreting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Fluent in the source language (English) and a native speaker of the target language 'Mandarin'.

• A minimum of 1 year of telephone interpretation experience in a reputable interpretation company is advantageous, though not mandatory.

• Familiarity with medical terminology is beneficial but not required.

• Awareness of legal terminology is a plus.

• International certifications in the healthcare sector are advantageous (such as PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.).

• High school diploma in your native language.

• Possess high emotional intelligence and tolerance for diverse cultures.

• Strong communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention skills are essential.
