Mandarin OPI/VRI Interpreter

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.

📋 Description

• Respond to calls in a professional manner, adhering to the Interpreter's code of conduct.

• Always be ready to take notes during calls.

• Familiarize yourself with the specific vocabulary relevant to the industry you are interpreting for (specifically healthcare and medical); training will be provided.

• Deliver all messages accurately and completely, ensuring no additions, omissions, or substitutions.

• Maintain the highest level of customer service during interpretation sessions.

• Facilitate communication between Limited English Proficient individuals and clients by providing accurate and complete interpretation of messages.

• Implement standards of practice.

• Participate in internal professional training.

• Demonstrate eagerness to obtain new professional certifications.

• Communicate and report effectively to your team leader.

• Adhere to dress code requirements for video remote interpreting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in the source language (English) and a native speaker of the target language "Mandarin".

• 1+ years of experience in telephone interpretation with a reputable interpretation company is an advantage but not a requirement.

• Good understanding of medical terminology is a plus, though not mandatory.

• Familiarity with legal terminology is an advantage.

• International certifications in the healthcare sector are beneficial (such as PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.).

• High school diploma in your native language.

• Strong emotional intelligence and cultural tolerance.

• Excellent communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention abilities.
