This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of new solutions/products for Managed Services clients.
• Provide oversight, project guidance, and technical leadership while reviewing and modifying Managed Services solutions.
• Support complex technical services and solutions across various platforms including enterprise storage, mainframe, midrange, Windows, Unix/Linux, networking, virtualization, and databases.
• Analyze client requirements, propose solutions, and assist with proposals, quotations, and presentations.
• Offer technical sales support.
• Advise clients, Managed Services, and other organizational teams on technical topics and architectural design.
• Maintain client relationships as a trusted Technical Advisor and act as the main communication point.
• Lead intricate design workshops.
• Mentor engineers in project design, analysis, and coordination.
• Research emerging technologies, evaluate alternatives, make recommendations, and present findings to management.
• Develop and maintain customer presentations, demos, training documentation, templates, and associated materials.
• Support vendor training requirements, certifications, and engineer education.
• Provide technical input for service engagement estimates and Statements of Work.
• Design and oversee upgrades to complex client infrastructure solutions.
• Provide implementation, upgrades, tuning, backups, restores, user management, and technical support.
• Adhere to change control, incident response, and testing procedures.
• Deliver Managed Services offerings in alignment with CDW service descriptions and catalog.
• Clearly communicate technical problems and solutions to clients.
• Participate in an on-call rotation for 24x7 critical-system support, which may include shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime.
• Escalate and support intricate technical issues and business-critical situations.
• Lead client projects aimed at enhancing and upgrading technology infrastructure.
• Create and execute test plans.
• Design and implement complex automation and technology solutions.
• Conduct throughput analysis, problem-solving, root cause analysis, and infrastructure planning.
• Identify potential cross-selling opportunities for the sales team.
• Assist Professional Services with architectural assessments and recommendations.
• Complete projects and assigned scopes of work on time.
• Understand and meet production-environment SLAs.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Customer Success, Project Management, R&D, and Sales.
• Test, evaluate, and develop products, offerings, and solutions.
• Conduct training for customers and employees.
• Review service requests daily, provide updates to clients, and maintain accurate problem-tracking data.
• Update customer incident tickets and change orders, providing status information to management and account managers.
• Bachelor’s degree and 7 years of IT engineering experience, including 5 years of large-scale data center experience, OR 11 total years of IT engineering experience with a minimum of 5 years in a large-scale, multi-tenant Data Center environment.
• Experience in enterprise-class planning, design, implementation, and support with one or more Managed Services infrastructure solutions.
• Capability to apply technical background and knowledge to business direction and deliver business-based customer outcomes.
• Proficiency in developing project plans and schedules for complex projects or new solution/product development.
• Ability to establish customer trust and confidence in CDW Managed Services.
• Skill in balancing multiple priorities, adapting to changing customer needs, and meeting deadlines.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and root cause analysis abilities.
• Consistent adherence to policies and procedures.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, including collaboration with C-level executives.
• Capacity to work independently and as part of a team, providing guidance and mentorship.
• Strong time management capabilities.
• Working knowledge of scripting/coding languages such as Python, Bash, Perl, Ruby, or TLC.
• Familiarity with networking hardware including Cisco, Juniper, Arista, or Aruba switches and routers.
• Understanding of firewalls, load balancers, WAN optimization, network technologies/topologies, security, QoS, VoIP, virtualization, data center, wireless, and VPN technologies.
• Willingness to travel as needed.
• Current Cisco CCNP certifications are required.
• Cisco CCIE certification is an advantage.
• Industry-recognized technical certifications in relevant disciplines are a plus.
• Experience in a large data center environment is a plus.
• 5 years of Managed Services experience is a plus.
• Annual bonus target of 10% subject to the terms and conditions of the plan.
