This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Define and drive the vision along with a multi-quarter roadmap for Infra Foundations.
• Link foundational investments to business-impacting outcomes while ensuring time is allocated for technical-debt reduction and reliability initiatives.
• Lead and mentor infrastructure engineers, taking ownership of hiring, performance evaluation, and career development.
• Collaborate with engineering leadership and stakeholders across infrastructure, platform, and security domains.
• Assume responsibility for reliability and safety concerning AWS account provisioning, bootstrapping, core networking, and human IAM access.
• Propel automation frameworks that empower infrastructure teams to safely provision, update, and dismantle stacks and environments using GitHub and Spacelift.
• Oversee AWS quota management and notifications, AMI patch management, and Ansible-based configuration management.
• Establish service level agreements (SLAs), quota alerting thresholds, incident response processes, and automated validation for provisioning and teardown.
• Collaborate with Security to implement least-privilege IAM policies and recommended permissions.
• Promote the adoption of frameworks and best practices through self-service tools, documentation, and knowledge sharing.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in software or infrastructure engineering.
• At least 2 years of experience in engineering management.
• Demonstrated experience leading engineering teams in infrastructure, platform engineering, or related fields.
• Strong technical knowledge in cloud-native and infrastructure systems, preferably within the AWS ecosystem.
• Ability to guide architecture and execution across AWS accounts, VPC networking, and IAM.
• Experience in owning or leading Infrastructure-as-Code practices, such as Terraform or Spacelift.
• Familiarity with GitOps-style workflows.
• Experience in building and operating infrastructure automation that is utilized by other teams.
• Proven record of operating highly reliable services, including monitoring, on-call duties, incident response, postmortems, and ongoing security hardening.
• Understanding of least-privilege IAM models and access governance.
• Strong programming skills in Python, Go, or Kotlin are preferred.
• Excellent communication and organizational leadership abilities.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience.
