This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead and mentor a team of engineers, taking ownership of output, technical decisions, career growth, and priorities.
• Steer technical decisions and facilitate thorough architectural decision-making.
• Collaborate with engineering leaders, product management, design, and customer success to execute the roadmap.
• Clarify requirements, eliminate ambiguity, and make scoping decisions for ongoing projects.
• Oversee team execution from planning and prioritization to delivery.
• Ensure that commitments are fulfilled and that obstacles are swiftly addressed.
• Manage support escalations and work with customer success to triage, prioritize, and resolve production issues.
• Guarantee timely and high-quality feature delivery through effective scope management and innovative problem-solving.
• Take ownership of testing outcomes and quality checkpoints.
• Collaborate with DevOps to enhance and sustain build pipelines and CI/CD processes.
• Promote code quality, testing, and engineering best practices.
• Measure and enhance team KPIs.
• Monitor cycle time, work-in-progress, and velocity to identify bottlenecks and drive continuous improvement.
• Engage in hiring, onboarding, and team development.
• Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, performance evaluations, and career development discussions.
• 3–5+ years of experience in leading engineering teams within SaaS software organizations.
• Proven management experience with engineers across various levels of seniority.
• Demonstrated ability to develop talent and retain high-performing individuals.
• Proficient knowledge of at least one of the following: Elixir, React, React Native, or AWS.
• Hands-on experience in leading Agile or Kanban/Lean sprint teams.
• Track record of measurable improvements in velocity, quality, or delivery timelines.
• Experience in scoping, planning, and delivering software consistently.
• Background in building and refining supportive engineering processes.
• Ability to establish clear goals and expectations, monitor progress, and make necessary adjustments.
• Experience managing projects from inception to completion in ambiguous or fast-paced environments.
• Strong communication skills with experience in adapting technical context for non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience in advocating for engineering needs across different functions.
• Familiarity with instrumentation, observability, and tooling practices.
• Comfort in operating within a startup or high-growth setting.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
