Manager, Software Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.

📋 Description

• Lead a newly established team providing Unity platform support for a major platform partner that brings games to television and mobile formats.

• Ensure stable platform support.

• Develop developer workflows for Unity users to access unique platform functionalities.

• Spearhead optimization initiatives to enhance Unity's efficiency across a diverse range of target devices.

• Take ownership of and drive immediate execution and technical strategy for the team.

• Collaborate with other core Unity engineering and graphics teams internally.

• Articulate the team’s vision and progress to both internal and external stakeholders.

• Cultivate a high-performance, supportive culture through mentoring and coaching.

• Actively support team members’ professional development and career progression.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience in developing and managing a high-performance software engineering team.

• Established technical knowledge of desktop/mobile/web platform technology stacks, utilizing platform APIs to create native applications.

• Proven success in collaborating with internal Product owners and external partners to achieve alignment on technical specifications and interdependencies.

• Expertise in software engineering.

• Familiarity with C++, C#, and JavaScript.

• Ability to comprehend and navigate a large and complex software product.

• Knowledge of real-time 3D rendering techniques and graphics APIs, including Vulkan and/or WebGPU (optional).

• A systematic approach to prioritizing and developing innovative optimization solutions (optional).

• A strong enthusiasm for the future of computer games or real-time 3D experiences (optional).

• Experience leading remote teams using Agile development methodologies (optional).

• Understanding of when and how to effectively incorporate AI into the software development process (optional).

• Proficient in English for professional verbal and written communication.
