This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Guide, mentor, and develop a team of software engineers, which includes hiring, onboarding, performance evaluation, professional growth, and career advancement.
• Take responsibility for team delivery through effective planning, prioritization, task assignments, resource management, product commitments, and follow-through on production.
• Enhance the onboarding process and engineer efficiency by implementing scoped initial tasks, providing review and pairing support, facilitating progressive production-debugging exposure, and monitoring ramp-up progress.
• Offer technical guidance for document-processing pipelines involving ingestion, OCR, classification, extraction, state management, and delivery.
• Balance the pace of product development with the demands of security, compliance, and reliability.
• Manage and enhance CI/CD, release management, automated testing, observability, production incident response, and conduct blameless post-incident reviews.
• Encourage the adoption of AI-assisted and agentic engineering tools while establishing standards for accuracy, security, and maintainability.
• Collaborate with platform and security teams on infrastructure, hardening, and compliance efforts.
• Diagnose intricate cross-service production challenges involving application code, queues, object storage, state records, configuration settings, logs, and external dependencies.
• Articulate trade-offs, risks, estimates, delivery updates, and operational health to Product and business stakeholders.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline — or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Around 8+ years of professional experience in software development.
• At least 2 years of experience leading or managing software engineers who have delivered production software.
• Solid hands-on expertise in C#/.NET and backend product engineering, encompassing APIs, event-driven and asynchronous processing, as well as cloud service integration.
• Familiarity with cloud-native architectures, ideally AWS serverless (Lambda, SQS, S3, DynamoDB or comparable alternatives); Azure experience is also acceptable.
• Proven experience in owning or co-owning production support for critical business services.
• Demonstrated capability to hire, onboard, and quickly ramp engineers.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, coaching, and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience managing teams that developed document processing, OCR, classification, extraction, data ingestion, or similar event-driven data pipeline systems.
• Background in tax, financial services, accounting, payments, or other regulated sectors dealing with sensitive customer information.
• Experience managing a mix of employees and contractors, as well as distributed or nearshore teams.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes-based deployment, observability tools, and structured logging/metrics practices.
• Practical experience governing AI-assisted engineering tools.
