Manager – Software Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Lead and develop technical teams to deliver high-quality products within deadlines.

• Collaborate with technical leaders to create a cohesive product suite.

• Cultivate a high-performance culture focused on engineering excellence, security, and agility.

• Align the team with a prioritized backlog while contributing to technical solutions.

• Assist in defining user stories that reflect the product vision.

• Oversee compliance with and implementation of the software development lifecycle.

• Identify and communicate potential obstacles.

• Offer technical guidance and hands-on support.

• Eliminate barriers to enhance team productivity.

• Implement and continually refine departmental processes, standards, and benchmarks.

• Evaluate team and individual performance against established quality metrics.

• Hold direct reports accountable for meeting performance standards.

• Manage aspects of hiring, compensation, employee relations, performance feedback, and coaching.

• Encourage the personal and professional development of team members.

• Act as an escalation point for complex issues.

• Provide guidance, resolve challenges, and contribute to the growth and quality of the department.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.

• A minimum of four years of experience in AI.

• Previous experience in software engineering is necessary.

• Proven leadership skills in either people management or technical roles.

• Strong foundational knowledge of AI, machine learning, and data science concepts.

• Practical experience with relevant tools and frameworks.

• Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, or other software development methodologies.

• Demonstrated fiscal accountability in managing budgets.

• Exceptional leadership, judgment, and business acumen.

• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

• Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills.

• Proficient in CI/CD principles.

• Experience with Microsoft operating systems and products, including Microsoft Outlook or similar tools.

• Strong skills in facilitation, project management, and organization.

• Ability to create and deliver presentations using data analytics and presentation tools.

• Proficiency in Python.

• Experience with PyTorch.

• Familiarity with machine learning libraries.

• Knowledge of XGBoost.

• Experience with Large Language Models (LLMs).

• Understanding of Transformers.

• Experience in data science experimentation.

• Skills in model hosting and evaluation.

• Knowledge of RAGAS.
