Manager, Software Development Engineering – Quality Engineering, Testing

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Oversee the design and execution of AI-enhanced Quality Engineering solutions, which include agentic test generation, self-healing frameworks, and AI-driven defect analysis.

• Lead the transition of automation frameworks and test data management to AWS-native services.

• Propel testing towards agent-orchestrated Quality Engineering across planning, execution, and triage phases.

• Convert Sales & Acquisition business processes into automation strategies and validation models.

• Architect and deploy automated SDLC pipelines, from requirement-to-test generation to PR impact analysis and validation workflows.

• Create evaluation frameworks, quality gates, guardrails, prompt/response validation, and enforce responsible AI governance.

• Integrate LLM-based and AI-assisted tools with test automation frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, GitHub, Jira, and corporate data systems.

• Promote the use of UI, API, and data-validation automation frameworks equipped with quality gates and regression intelligence.

• Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of SDETs.

• Collaborate with Business, Product, Engineering, DevOps, and QE teams to develop scalable and compliant solutions.

• Set standards, governance models, prompt libraries, and reusable automation assets.

• Track automation coverage, defect leakage, cycle time, and delivery efficiency.

• Convey automation strategy and AI-driven quality initiatives to both technical and business stakeholders.

• Remain updated on automation technologies, AI/agent-based workflows, and enterprise automation practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 7 years of experience in Software Development Engineering, Quality Engineering, or related technical fields.

• At least 2 years of experience in leading automation strategy and/or managing engineering teams.

• Significant hands-on experience with JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, or Python.

• Experience in building and integrating APIs and distributed systems.

• Proven expertise with test automation frameworks like Playwright, Selenium, or Cypress.

• Practical experience with AI/GenAI tools.

• Familiarity with Jira for workflow management, defect tracking, and reporting.

• Ability to work during East Coast business hours.

• Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent technical training or relevant professional experience.

• Preferred: experience in Healthcare, Medicare, or Sales & Acquisition sectors.

• Preferred: exposure to AI-driven SDLC or agent-based automation frameworks.

• Preferred: experience with AI-assisted testing, self-healing automation, or intelligent test optimization.

• Preferred: familiarity with AWS-native services such as Bedrock, Lambda, or Step Functions in test automation or CI/CD pipelines.

• Preferred: knowledge of Power BI.

• Preferred: understanding of enterprise security, governance, and compliance requirements.

• Preferred: strong communication skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
