Manager, Simulation Infrastructure

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Recruit, lead, and mentor a team of full-stack and infrastructure engineers, emphasizing career development, performance enhancement, and team wellbeing.

• Take ownership of the strategic roadmap and implementation for web applications and tools that facilitate scenario management, run orchestration, tagging and taxonomy, and results analytics.

• Provide guidance on architectural choices for scalable cloud infrastructure and container orchestration that support extensive, parallel batch simulation runs.

• Supervise the design and upkeep of relational databases and secure, high-throughput APIs that connect frontend portals to simulation systems.

• Champion engineering best practices, reliability, observability, and cost-effectiveness across the platform.

• Collaborate with the Simulation Engine team and stakeholders to ensure alignment between technical capabilities and business requirements, define integration interfaces, and manage intricate, multi-quarter projects.

⛳️ Requirements

• B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent experience).

• A minimum of 5 years of software engineering experience covering backend services and cloud infrastructure, including at least 2 years in direct people management.

• Proven experience leading teams that manage production workloads on container orchestration platforms (e.g., Kubernetes) at scale, along with robust relational database ecosystems (e.g., PostgreSQL).

• Strong foundational experience in creating secure, high-throughput APIs and web services (Go, Python, and/or Node.js) with modern frontends like React.

• Established experience in recruiting, building, and mentoring full-stack or infrastructure engineering teams.

• In-depth knowledge of container orchestration and architectural principles that support cloud scalability, resilience, and operational health.

• Strong technical expertise in relational database design, schema design, performance optimization, and scalable backend web services.

• Familiarity with modern frontend frameworks, CI/CD, observability, and infrastructure-as-code practices.

• Outstanding communication and leadership abilities.

• Moderate travel required: 11%-25%.
