Manager, RCM Training – Excellence

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop and oversee structured onboarding programs tailored for each RCM position.

• Design, deliver, and facilitate practical role-specific training utilizing realistic scenarios, knowledge assessments, work samples, refresher sessions, remedial training, and train-the-trainer initiatives.

• Monitor learner progress, attendance, completion rates, assessment outcomes, and competency levels, while recommending further practice, coaching, or retraining as necessary.

• Establish and maintain a controlled inventory of current RCM Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), job aids, curricula, facilitator guides, learner materials, version histories, ownership details, approvals, effective dates, and review timelines.

• Work collaboratively with business owners and subject-matter experts to revise training and documentation in response to changes in workflows, systems, payer requirements, coding regulations, roles, or controls.

• Ensure that instructions clearly define responsibilities, required documentation, exception handling procedures, escalation points, and approved workflows, while eliminating outdated or conflicting materials.

• Collaborate with operational leaders to set passing standards, confirm competency prior to independent work, and document responses when standards are not achieved.

• Facilitate workflow and system transitions by identifying impacted roles, preparing training and job aids prior to implementation, and providing ongoing support such as office hours, floor assistance, or refresher sessions post-launch.

• Conduct or coordinate quality assessments and analyze trends related to errors, denials, rework, productivity, and turnaround times.

• Assess whether issues necessitate training, clearer instructions, workflow modifications, system corrections, staffing adjustments, or managerial intervention.

• Evaluate the effectiveness of training and corrective actions, track open issues to resolution, and report on status to RCM leadership.

• Lead designated training and quality resources by prioritizing tasks, reviewing content, observing delivery, calibrating quality assessments, coaching staff, and planning resource capacity.

• Safeguard sensitive information and carry out other job-related responsibilities as assigned.

• Reports to the Director of RCM Operations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, education, business, health information management, instructional design, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.

• Over 5 years of experience in healthcare RCM, including a minimum of 2 years in training, quality assurance, onboarding, coaching, or operational support.

• Proficient knowledge of various RCM functions and payer requirements.

• Experience in creating SOPs, job aids, curricula, assessments, and competency benchmarks.

• Familiarity with utilizing audit findings, errors, denials, or performance metrics to determine training needs.

• Exceptional writing, facilitation, coaching, organizational, analytical, and presentation abilities.

• Proven experience in leading projects, programs, subject-matter experts, trainers, or quality resources.

• Preferred: Background in diagnostic, molecular, genetic, pathology, or specialty laboratory RCM.

• Preferred: Certifications such as CRCR, CRCP/CRCE, CPC, CPB, CCS, instructional design, adult learning, Lean Six Sigma, or quality certification.

• Preferred: Experience with LIMS platforms, Quadax, Salesforce, laboratory billing systems, clearinghouses, payer portals, CRM, UAT, automation, or AI-driven workflow changes.

• Ability to safeguard patient, client, employee, financial, and business information while adhering to company policies, HIPAA regulations, and relevant payer, laboratory, quality, and regulatory standards.
