This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Provide comprehensive tactical and strategic leadership and oversight of projects through assigned project managers.
• Ensure uniformity of processes across various projects while maintaining satisfaction for both internal and external customers.
• Define and manage project scope to align with business objectives and meet customer expectations.
• Oversee project budgets and ensure financial accountability.
• Allocate and manage resources effectively across multiple projects.
• Identify and manage project risks and issues, developing appropriate mitigation strategies.
• Serve as the primary escalation point for project-related issues.
• Regularly engage with customers alongside individual project managers.
• Communicate project progress, key risks, and issues to stakeholders.
• Facilitate meetings and workshops to gather and document requirements, driving decision-making processes.
• Manage project reporting deliverables and ensure that Project Managers adhere to deadlines.
• Create or assist in developing project status presentations for stakeholders and leadership.
• Promote best practices and a culture of continuous improvement in project delivery.
• Lead, coach, mentor, and develop high-performing project teams.
• Establish project management standards and governance frameworks.
• Oversee a portfolio of intricate, cross-functional projects and programs that support organizational objectives and strategic priorities.
• Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 5 years of leadership experience for the Manager role, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Bachelor's Degree and at least 8 years of leadership experience for the Senior Manager role, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
• Must possess identification that complies with the Real ID Act at the time of hire.
• Must be able to acquire a Department of Energy PIV access badge.
• Advanced understanding of project management principles, methodologies, and best practices, including Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid frameworks.
• Familiarity with project governance, risk management, budget management, resource planning, and change management practices.
• Knowledge of strategic planning, business operations, and process improvement methodologies.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Azure DevOps, Jira, Power BI, and Microsoft 365 applications.
• Understanding of financial management principles, including forecasting, budgeting, and cost control.
• Strong leadership and people management capabilities.
• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
• Proven track record of managing multiple priorities, competing demands, and complex projects.
• Effective negotiation, conflict resolution, and relationship management skills.
• Strong organizational and time management abilities.
• Capability to lead and oversee complex, cross-functional projects and programs.
• Ability to establish project management standards, governance frameworks, and best practices.
• Competence in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks.
• Skill in assessing resource needs, allocating resources efficiently, and optimizing team performance.
• Ability to manage ambiguity and adjust to shifting priorities.
• Sufficient physical capabilities to perform job functions, including computer use, repetitive keyboarding, occasional bending/twisting, reaching, lifting up to 10 pounds regularly, and travel by vehicle or aircraft.
• Ability to operate a motor vehicle safely.
• Must adhere to federal regulations regarding controlled substances.
• Must successfully complete a federal background investigation for the HSPD-12 PIV credential.
