Manager, Last Mile Operations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Hampshire, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Manage the daily operations of contract carriers, which includes overseeing contractor schedules and monitoring routes.

• Generate reports and cultivate positive working relationships with contract carriers and their assistants.

• Mentor and develop staff to help them achieve their objectives.

• Educate staff on the company's policies and procedures.

• Conduct interviews, hire employees, handle disciplinary actions, and address employee-related issues.

• Ensure adherence to corporate warehouse policies, procedures, and programs.

• Supervise team members, plan and direct work activities, evaluate performance, provide rewards and discipline, and resolve complaints and issues.

• Utilize route planning software to create efficient delivery routes.

• Oversee the dispatch of contract carriers and troubleshoot issues as they arise throughout the day.

• Identify areas of concern and reorganize routes to enhance operational efficiency.

• Train and develop contract carriers and dispatchers to meet and exceed customer expectations.

• Ensure tasks are completed accurately and within set time limits.

• Confirm that photos are taken for every job completed.

• Allocate and request additional resources as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant logistics and supervisory experience.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Outlook, and Excel.

• Flexibility to work various shifts, which may include holidays, days, evenings, nights, and weekends.

• Willingness to travel occasionally between branches and regions.

• Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, or a related field (preferred).

• Experience in mentoring, training, and guiding newer or less experienced team members.

• Bilingual in English and Spanish, with the ability to read, write, and speak both languages (preferred).

• Strong business acumen and a readiness to collaborate with management teams.

• Capability to pass a pre-employment drug screening if required after receiving a conditional job offer.
