Manager – Engineering, Managed Services

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead a Managed Services Engineering team that provides cloud, automation, observability, security, infrastructure, and managed operations services.

• Take ownership of the complete service delivery and operational performance for designated government customer environments.

• Ensure adherence to contractual obligations, SLAs, SLOs, operational standards, and relevant government requirements.

• Implement service level agreements utilizing operational frameworks, standard operating procedures, runbooks, service management practices, and governance processes.

• Foster continuous improvement in service delivery across processes, tools, automation, service health, resilience, customer experience, security, and team productivity.

• Allocate engineering resources for the support, maintenance, modernization, security, and optimization of cloud and hybrid technology services.

• Establish on-call and escalation protocols to ensure coverage, prompt response, and operational continuity.

• Identify opportunities for automation to decrease manual tasks, enhance reliability, and boost scalability.

• Act as the product owner for designated cloud, hybrid infrastructure, automation, observability, and managed operations solutions.

• Advocate for CDW’s vision of becoming an AI-fluent organization and encourage responsible AI adoption and ongoing learning.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required along with 7 years of experience, including at least 1 year in a managerial role, OR 11 years of work experience with a minimum of 1 year in a managerial position.

• Previous experience in consulting, managed services, cloud operations, infrastructure operations, or engineering leadership is preferred.

• Familiarity with ITIL-based process management, service delivery frameworks, operational governance, and continuous improvement is advantageous.

• Proven ability to lead teams, build consensus, prioritize tasks, and achieve measurable outcomes is a plus.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are highly desired.

• Experience collaborating with enterprise technology vendors, cloud providers, managed service platforms, or service management tools is a plus.

• Willingness to travel up to 25% as necessary is preferred.

• Open to exploring how AI can enhance strategy, decision-making, and team performance.

• Ability to mentor others in developing confidence and expertise with AI tools and methodologies.
