Software Engineering Manager, Banking

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Oversee the team tasked with ensuring the resilience, scalability, and architectural advancement of the Pix infrastructure within the Banking sector.

• Directly manage a senior team in collaboration with Engineering Staff/Senior Staff Engineers and the leadership of the Banking Tribe.

• Lead and enhance the software delivery process, ensuring predictability while proactively identifying any obstacles.

• Utilize engineering metrics to boost delivery efficiency.

• Engage in operational incidents by analyzing dashboards, queues, and bottlenecks, providing guidance to the team.

• Assess practical applications of emerging technologies and artificial intelligence to expedite and automate workflows.

• Enhance the engineering maturity of the squad through test coverage, automation, CI/CD practices, and code reviews.

• Mentor and provide constructive feedback to mid-level and senior engineers, focusing on technical growth.

• Guide intricate System Design and architecture decisions.

• Collaborate with specialists and Staff Engineers to evaluate resilience, latency, and cost implications.

• Assist in eliminating single points of failure, optimizing costs, and ensuring the high availability of the Pix infrastructure.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in engineering management/leadership, people management, software delivery, and software processes.

• Significant experience in constructing and evolving highly complex back-end systems and microservices.

• In-depth understanding of System Design and architecture principles.

• Familiarity with resilience, high availability, scalability, and service-to-service communication.

• Proficiency in Go or a solid foundation in programming languages that emphasize concurrency and performance.

• Experience with microservices architecture and Kubernetes.

• Familiarity with RabbitMQ or similar asynchronous processing technologies.

• Knowledge of relational and non-relational databases, including PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and DynamoDB.

• Strong technical acumen to discuss and guide complex System Design and architecture decisions.

• Experience in the financial services sector, payments, or Banking is advantageous.

• Understanding of Pix messaging and integrations with the Central Bank of Brazil (Bacen) is a plus.
