Senior Manager – Software Engineering, Health100 Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +5 more states.

📋 Description

• Lead engineering teams to develop the consumer health experience on the Health100 platform.

• Identify, prioritize, shape, and implement intricate platform initiatives.

• Design, manage, and enhance scalable distributed systems, APIs, and AI-driven platform capabilities.

• Recruit, mentor, and retain top-performing engineers.

• Foster a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and modern engineering along with AI-assisted development practices.

• Spearhead engineering initiatives from strategy and prioritization through to delivery on complex, high-visibility projects.

• Drive measurable business results.

• Establish KPIs and OKRs, proactively mitigate risks, and ensure operational excellence.

• Advocate for secure, compliant, and responsible utilization of AI technologies.

• Collaborate with engineering, product, design, security, analytics, and business teams.

• Guide the integration and validation of complex technology solutions.

• Utilize Java, distributed systems, cloud platforms, Generative AI, machine learning, and intelligent automation.

⛳️ Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering.

• 3+ years of experience in managing and developing high-performing engineering teams in Agile, cloud-native settings.

• Strong hands-on technical expertise in Java and microservices architecture.

• 5+ years of experience in cloud development, preferably with GCP.

• Ability to guide architectural decisions and assess engineering trade-offs.

• Proven capability to lead the complete software delivery lifecycle from discovery and design to deployment and production operations at scale.

• Experience in delivering modern platform capabilities and employing AI-powered technologies, large language models, intelligent automation, or data-driven solutions.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• A High School diploma plus 4 years of relevant work experience as an alternative educational pathway.

• Preferred experience in Healthcare, Retail, or Pharmacy sectors.

• Preferred experience with Java, microservices, and end-to-end software delivery.

• Preferred experience with intelligent orchestration platforms, multi-agent workflows, or knowledge-driven AI systems.

• Familiarity with LLM orchestration, Model Context Protocol, agentic workflows, vector search, RAG, and AI governance is preferred.

• Preferred experience with CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes/Docker, observability, and DevOps practices.
