This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut.
• Foster relationships with Clinic Directors, clinic teams, community stakeholders, and referral partners through consistent engagement, site visits, and portfolio support.
• Create, implement, and evaluate clinic Community Relations/EOC Attainment Action Plans alongside statewide telehealth initiatives.
• Enhance in-referral strategies, broaden stakeholder and newsletter distribution lists, and position clinics as reliable community resources.
• Maintain stakeholder data and formulate action plans for engaging key individuals.
• Assess local market, military, veteran, and demographic information to refine outreach, stakeholder engagement, and targeted campaigns.
• Assist Clinic Advisory Panels and contribute to various community relations projects.
• Educate and mentor clinic leaders and staff on community relations tools, stakeholder management, referral development, military culture, and best practices.
• Contribute to community relations resources, campaigns, office hours, toolkits, and initiatives with national partners.
• Aid in the development of legislative, appropriations, public grants, and government sustainment campaigns.
• Track developments in legislation, budget, policy, and public funding, while communicating trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Cultivate and sustain relationships with elected officials, public agencies, veterans' affairs leaders, funders, and government stakeholders.
• Coordinate state and local government funding opportunities in collaboration with clinic leadership and government relations teams.
• Maintain sustainment dashboards, funding goals, action plans, and progress reports.
• Assist in the development, submission, administration, tracking, reporting, and compliance of public grants.
• Represent CVN in government meetings, site visits, and state, local, and regional forums.
• Support clinic expansion and strategic initiatives related to state or local government, and contribute to federal initiatives as required.
• This position does not entail lobbying activities.
• At least five years of progressively responsible experience in community relations, government relations, public affairs, public funding, nonprofit partnerships, program development, or a related field.
• Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• Proven ability to forge productive relationships with clinic leaders, public officials, agency personnel, community organizations, funders, and cross-functional colleagues.
• Capability to develop and manage priorities and travel schedules aligned with State Initiatives, Community Relations, and overarching organizational goals.
• Familiarity with state and local government processes, appropriations, grants, contracts, or public funding is advantageous; demonstrated interest and ability to deepen government relations expertise.
• Experience in developing and executing community engagement, stakeholder management, referral, or partnership programs.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to oversee multiple markets, campaigns, deadlines, and reporting obligations.
• Demonstrated proactivity in collaborating across departments and working with colleagues on key priorities.
• Exceptional writing, analysis, presentation, facilitation, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex funding or policy issues.
• Ability to analyze data, monitor performance, make actionable recommendations, and follow through on action plans.
• Diplomatic, collaborative, and comfortable navigating a matrixed environment with functional direction from various leaders.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Microsoft 365 applications; experience with Salesforce and project management tools is a plus.
• Preference for candidates with experience in military, veteran, mental health, or nonprofit sectors.
• Willingness to travel.
