Manager, Brokerage Platform Operations – General Ledger

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of and expand brokerage general ledger processes.

• Spearhead collaborative initiatives to ensure precise journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting of client transaction data.

• Analyze general ledger data discrepancies and identify root causes.

• Develop automated, sustainable solutions for recurring issues.

• Oversee operational deliverables for brokerage audits, including SOC, FinOps, and MFRs.

• Ensure comprehensive process documentation is maintained.

• Track internal and external ledger transfer bookings and manage timelines for exception handling.

• Collaborate with Engineering to streamline manual workflows, mitigate operational risks, and facilitate new product launches.

• Provide mentorship to team members.

• Create process enhancements that minimize manual tasks and eliminate single points of failure.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in brokerage or broker-dealer accounting, finance, or ledger operations.

• Direct experience managing an in-house or non-outsourced general ledger on a daily basis.

• Capability to convey technical requirements to Engineering and articulate accounting principles to Finance.

• Familiarity with regulatory oversight, including Monthly Financial Reports (MFRs) or SOC audit assistance.

• Practical experience with software systems like Oracle GL or NetSuite is advantageous.

• Proficiency in SQL is a plus.

• Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.

• Permanent resident status in Canada is required.
