This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee daily operations of a team within OCHIN Billing Services.
• Supervise team performance and foster the development of personnel, processes, and enhancements.
• Deliver billing services to various members while ensuring exceptional billing support for OBS clients.
• Perform in-depth financial analyses to pinpoint high-risk accounts, boost collections, and optimize processes.
• Collaborate with executives and the partnering director to formulate actionable, prioritized plans.
• Manage workflows that align with departmental goals and objectives.
• Fulfill individual and team objectives that correspond with the organization's strategic initiatives.
• Distribute work based on account requirements, staff expertise, and experience.
• Prepare and conduct performance coaching sessions and reviews for direct reports.
• Recognize and address risks and escalate issues to leadership as necessary.
• Identify, document, and enhance processes in collaboration with departmental leadership.
• Assess each billing client's revenue cycle, identify challenges, and implement effective solutions.
• Engage with customers and cultivate relationships to resolve revenue cycle issues promptly.
• Ensure bills are processed accurately in accordance with payer specifications and organizational policies.
• Compile and present monthly performance analyses for the team and members to OBS leadership.
• Maintain relationships with patients, payers, team members, OBS clients, OCHIN Members, vendors, and other stakeholders.
• Uphold the confidentiality of patient and organizational information in line with HIPAA regulations.
• Adapt to changing priorities, demands, and timelines.
• Complete assignments and projects independently with minimal direct supervision.
• Perform additional duties that support the organizational mission and objectives.
• Assist member organizations on-site for new software implementations as required; travel nationwide based on business needs.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Healthcare, or a related field, or a combination of higher education and 1–2 years of relevant experience.
• At least four (4) years of supervisory or leadership experience within a department.
• A minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years of progressive experience in the Medical Billing sector.
• Solid understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, MVA, Workers Comp, and private insurance billing and reimbursement processes.
• Familiarity with legal requirements regarding State, Federal, and County policies, procedures, regulations, and the release of confidential patient information, including HIPAA.
• Experience in Hospital Billing is mandatory.
• Medical Coding experience is preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of and experience with the Epic practice management system is preferred.
• Previous experience with FQHC/RHC is preferred for the PB Operations Manager role.
• Coding experience or CPC (Certified Professional Coder) certification is advantageous.
• Strong preference for candidates with experience using the EPIC practice management system for the PB Operations Manager position.
• Required experience with Acute Care EHR software, specifically the HB Resolute module, for HB Operations Manager roles.
• Preference for candidates familiar with HB Claims, Prelude, Cadence, and EpicCare modules.
• Experience with Critical Access Hospital or Method 2 Billing is highly desired for HB-focused positions.
