Manager, Application Development

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• Provide both strategic and tactical direction for application development, implementation, integration, and support solutions for Vanscoy Rare Pharmacy.

• Design, create, and maintain custom software applications, APIs, integrations, and automation solutions that support pharmacy operations.

• Collect requirements and convert business needs into technical solutions.

• Develop integrations between proprietary systems, pharmacy dispensing platforms, Snowflake, CRM systems, manufacturer systems, shipping systems, and third-party healthcare applications.

• Support initiatives focused on application modernization and digital transformation.

• Develop reusable frameworks, APIs, and services.

• Act as the primary technical liaison with RareMed Solutions concerning proprietary software development, enhancements, issue resolution, roadmap planning, and optimization.

• Coordinate and prioritize proprietary software development initiatives in collaboration with development teams.

• Engage in hands-on software configuration, workflow creation, process optimization, automation development, UI enhancements, data mappings, and system customization.

• Analyze workflows to identify opportunities for optimization, automation, efficiency, and enhanced user experience.

• Maintain integrations with CareTend, reporting platforms, data warehouses, telephony systems, shipping systems, and manufacturer reporting solutions.

• Participate in architecture discussions, technical design reviews, testing, deployment planning, and release management.

• Troubleshoot issues related to applications, integrations, workflows, and data.

• Keep technical documentation, configuration records, development standards, and change management documentation up to date.

• Serve as a subject matter expert for the proprietary software platform.

• Lead development processes from requirement gathering through design, coding, testing, deployment, and production support.

• Own and manage development, QA, testing, staging, and production environments.

• Oversee environment refreshes, deployments, upgrades, and release processes.

• Implement source control, branching strategies, deployment pipelines, SDLC standards, and deployment procedures.

• Ensure the stability, security, disaster recovery preparedness, and consistency of environments.

• Administer Azure-based development and analytics platforms.

• Design and support CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.

• Implement DevOps practices, including automated deployment, infrastructure as code, version control, release management, and testing automation.

• Collaborate with infrastructure and security teams to ensure secure cloud environments.

• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to analysts, engineers, and developers.

• Assist leadership with prioritizing technical initiatives and resource planning.

• Encourage continuous improvement, accountability, and innovation.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent professional experience.

• 7+ years of experience in data engineering, software development, systems integration, and cloud technologies.

• 3+ years of experience in leading technical initiatives and mentoring team members.

• Experience in managing enterprise development environments and release processes.

• Experience in the healthcare, specialty pharmacy, or regulated industries is preferred.

• Proficiency in advanced SQL development.

• Knowledge of data modeling.

• Understanding of ETL/ELT architecture.

• Familiarity with data warehousing concepts.

• Experience with Azure Data Factory.

• Proficiency in C#, .NET, Python, SQL, REST APIs, and Web Services.

• Familiarity with Azure DevOps and Azure Functions, Storage, App Services, and Key Vault.

• Experience with Git source control.

• Knowledge of CI/CD pipeline management.

• Experience in environment management and release management.

• Understanding of SDLC governance and change control.

• Skills in performance monitoring and troubleshooting support.

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate, Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate, Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert, or Snowflake Certification preferred.

• Experience with pharmacy dispensing platforms such as CareTend, proprietary software workflow platforms, specialty pharmacy operations, healthcare data management, manufacturer reporting, and AI and machine learning initiatives is preferred.
