Manager, Actuarial

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead a team of analysts.

• Price various ACA markets.

• Collaborate with Market P&L, Insurance Product, and analytic teams on regional pricing, network, and product strategies.

• Manage the complete regulatory submission process.

• Evaluate market risks and ensure that pricing is actuarially sound.

• Maintain pricing models and methodologies.

• Conduct trend analyses and monitor experiences.

• Supervise the comprehensive rate development for a particular ACA market region.

• Inform strategic business decisions pertaining to rates.

• Track emerging A:E and regional market trends and integrate insights into future pricing strategies.

• Offer actuarial guidance across cross-functional teams to support sustainable growth in Oscar's ACA-compliant Individual Markets.

• Mentor, coach, and provide consistent feedback to pricing analysts.

• Advocate for actuarial best practices in automation and documentation.

• Maintain relationships and effective communication with both internal and external stakeholders.

• Adhere to relevant laws and regulations.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

• Report to the Associate Director, Actuarial.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline.

• Associate or Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (SOA), or actively pursuing this designation.

• Over 5 years of experience in quantitative analysis.

• Candidates must reside in the U.S., excluding Alaska, Delaware, Hawaii, Louisiana, Montana, North Dakota, Oklahoma, West Virginia, Wyoming, and U.S. Territories.
