Managed Care Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Support overall financial operations and processes, including billing, collections, analysis, and client services.

• Ensure accurate financial records and procedures are maintained under the guidance of the Finance Manager.

• Complete assigned tasks proactively while identifying opportunities to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of financial processes.

• Execute primary or backup cash deposit duties for both manual and electronic cash and check deposits.

• Uphold internal controls for the handling of cash and checks prior to their deposit.

• Conduct journal entry uploads, keying, and posting for the general ledger.

• Verify posting reports to ensure accurate postings in the general ledger.

• Organize and maintain files for journal entries.

• Update claims recovery procedures as necessary.

• Assist with fundamental financial accounting and processing of check requests.

• Collaborate with external CPAs during annual audits for ACTY clients.

• Prepare and submit quarterly financials to the DMHC.

• Reconcile monthly capitation payments and investigate any payment discrepancies.

• Coordinate with Health Plans to confirm the receipt of monthly capitation for all eligible members.

• Assist with IBNR reporting, claims accruals, and healthcare financial analysis.

• Undertake special projects as required.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in healthcare accounting or finance is required.

• Required experience with capitation reconciliation and managed care financial operations.

• Experience with IBNR (Incurred But Not Reported/Received) reporting, claims accruals, or reserve analysis is mandatory.

• Proficiency in QuickBooks or similar accounting software is necessary.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.

• Ability to operate in a highly confidential environment.
