This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York, +1 more state.
• Oversee a diverse portfolio of potential and former major donors.
• Create and implement tailored strategies for cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
• Motivate current donors to contribute larger and/or longer-term gifts in line with Keshet’s priorities and the philanthropic aims of the donors.
• Discover, qualify, and engage new major donor prospects through research, referrals, events, and community connections.
• Foster donor relationships through consistent meetings, personalized outreach, and considerate stewardship.
• Collaborate with executive leadership and board members to enhance and broaden donor relationships.
• Provide guidance to executive leadership and board members on donor engagement and solicitation strategies.
• Formulate a comprehensive strategy to upgrade existing donors and identify and solicit new donors to achieve budgeted objectives.
• Prepare materials for solicitation, cultivation, and development events, including correspondence, fundraising plans, reports, and customized proposals.
• Maintain precise donor records in Salesforce CRM and utilize reporting and analytics to inform strategies and assess outcomes.
• Organize and execute donor engagement events and stewardship/prospecting visits.
• Collaborate across Keshet to enhance organization-wide engagement with major donors and promote a culture of philanthropy.
• Achieve fluency in Keshet’s programs and their impact, connecting donors with funding opportunities and narratives.
• Engage program staff to enrich donor meetings and cultivation events.
• Work together on compelling written fundraising communications.
• Travel nationwide 1–2 times a month for donor meetings and events, along with 3–4 trips annually for larger events and staff retreats.
• Report to and work closely with the CEO.
• Deeply passionate about Keshet’s mission and vision of promoting LGBTQ+ equality within Jewish life.
• Extensive understanding of LGBTQ+ identities and experiences.
• Ability to articulate the intersections among various Jewish and LGBTQ+ identities.
• Significant familiarity with Jewish tradition, identity, and experiences is preferred.
• Comfortable working within a wide array of Jewish communities.
• Proficient in navigating the Jewish communal landscape.
• Commitment to incorporating racial justice and gender equity perspectives in programs, fundraising, and workplace culture.
• Proven track record in building and maintaining trusting relationships with diverse stakeholders.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills that are both persuasive and clear.
• Strong analytical, planning, and project management capabilities.
• Demonstrated success in cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding major donors to achieve fundraising targets.
• Solid understanding of nonprofit fundraising, governance, management, and volunteer engagement models.
• Previous experience with a constituent data management or similar record-keeping systems is required.
• Familiarity with Salesforce is a plus.
• Ability to inspire, monitor, measure, and enhance the performance and morale of team members.
• Comfortable with ambiguity in a fast-paced environment and adaptable to shifting demands.
• Capable of collaborating with colleagues across different geographic locations utilizing technology.
• At least 5 years of development experience managing relationships with major donors.
