This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.
β’ Oversee a portfolio of approximately 140 donors and prospects through strategies involving qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
β’ Secure gifts ranging from four to five figures and beyond from qualified donors via direct solicitation.
β’ Manage a revenue target within a portfolio of approximately $1.4Mβ$2M.
β’ Create and execute tailored engagement plans that enhance donor relationships and boost philanthropic contributions.
β’ Conduct donor meetings, personalized outreach, and stewardship initiatives.
β’ Ensure the maintenance of precise portfolio plans, donor records, and engagement strategies.
β’ Identify, qualify, and nurture mid-level donors who have the potential and willingness to become major gift supporters.
β’ Establish and nurture a sustainable pipeline for future major donors.
β’ Analyze donor interests, engagement behaviors, and giving trends to inform cultivation and upgrade strategies.
β’ Collaborate with development colleagues to facilitate coordinated donor movement across fundraising initiatives.
β’ Align donor interests with organizational priorities, campaigns, and funding opportunities.
β’ Provide donor insights and fundraising intelligence to enhance the organization's fundraising strategies.
β’ Work together on coordinated donor engagement, stewardship, and solicitation efforts.
β’ Act as a knowledgeable and strategic fundraising partner throughout the organization.
β’ A strong commitment to the organizationβs mission and dedication to environmental advocacy.
β’ A bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
β’ More than 5 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising or development, including at least 3 years focused on major gifts.
β’ Proven experience in managing donor portfolios through qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
β’ Demonstrated success in directly securing major gifts and advancing donors through the giving pipeline.
β’ Experience in developing and implementing individualized strategies for donor engagement and solicitation.
β’ Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage donors both in-person and remotely.
β’ Proficient in utilizing donor data and engagement insights to shape fundraising strategies and manage portfolios.
β’ Willingness to travel domestically up to 30% of the time.
β’ Candidates living outside preferred locations should have reasonable access to a commercial airport to facilitate frequent domestic business travel.
β’ Experience in environmental, advocacy, public interest, or mission-driven organizations.
β’ Familiarity with donor database systems and fundraising analytics tools.
β’ Proven track record of upgrading mid-level donors to major gift relationships.
β’ Must verify identity and complete eligibility verification upon hiring.
