This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Plan, install, test, administer, maintain, update, and implement VTAM, TCPIP, FTP, SFTP, and mainframe network-related software.
• Provide programming support for IT mainframe network systems and general product assistance, including the configuration of interfaces to other subsystems.
• Coordinate and monitor changes while delivering corrective maintenance for mainframe network-related software.
• Diagnose, resolve, and document issues related to the mainframe network.
• Follow ITIL, Change, and Problem Management processes.
• Communicate effectively with software vendors, colleagues, clients, and leadership.
• Ensure software and products maintain system availability and performance in line with service agreements.
• Monitor and report on the performance, reliability, and consistency of systems/products.
• Enhance efficiency through automation and effective template use.
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction, efficiency enhancement, and improved methods for supporting technology environments.
• Stay updated on industry trends, products, services, and emerging technologies.
• Educate and communicate with Associates and clients regarding new upgrades and products.
• Assist client applications with problem identification and resolution.
• Support technology areas such as z/OS, Z/VM, Z/Linux, CICS, MQ, NetView, NetMaster, TCP/IP, VTAM, NDM, FTP, Connect:Direct, XCOM, capacity planning/performance, networks, storage, third-party software tools, and automated operations systems.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in mainframe networking is preferred, with overall mainframe systems experience being advantageous.
• A Bachelor’s degree is required, or equivalent work experience.
• Capability to prioritize and balance tasks, issues, and concerns with self, team, and clients.
• Experience in developing, leading, and managing system programming projects.
• Strong communication skills for effective interaction with internal colleagues and external clients.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
• Ability to multitask and perform well under tight deadlines and high-pressure situations.
• Strong analytical skills, with a focus on problem resolution and root cause analysis.
