Mainframe Storage Support, System Administrator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Offer daily assistance for IBM mainframe storage frameworks and related technologies.

• Oversee and sustain DASD storage subsystems, including storage allocation and performance enhancement.

• Provide support for IBM DFSMS components such as SMS, ACS routines, HSM, DFP, DSS, and RMM.

• Manage and support IBM DS8K, FlashSystem, and other associated storage platforms.

• Conduct incident management, root cause analysis, and resolve storage-related issues.

• Engage in change management processes, which include implementation planning, risk evaluation, testing, and execution.

• Track storage usage, analyze trends, and execute capacity management to accommodate future growth needs.

• Ensure high availability, stability, and performance of critical services across intricate z/OS environments.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in supporting IBM Mainframe Storage environments.

• Profound knowledge of IBM z/OS operating systems and storage architecture.

• Practical experience with the DFSMS suite, including SMS, DFHSM/HSM, DFDSS, ICKDSF, RMM, IDCAMS, and ISMF.

• Hands-on experience in supporting IBM DS8000 storage platforms.

• Demonstrated experience in managing backup, recovery, replication, and disaster recovery processes.

• Comprehensive understanding of DASD management, storage provisioning, performance tuning, and capacity planning.

• Familiarity with storage monitoring/reporting tools and incident, problem, and change management procedures.

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities.

• Capacity to support critical systems under stringent operational and SLA requirements.

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Engineering, or equivalent experience.

• Excellent English communication skills.
