Mainframe Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Serve as the Mainframe Application Lead for the Claims Application.

• Design, document, develop, and maintain tools for the Mainframe development community.

• Set up CICS table entries for new programs, transactions, and files.

• Take project design requirements into account for integration with distributed applications.

• Oversee project designs and execution plans.

• Carry out project life cycle phases, including analysis, design, programming, and implementation.

• Work autonomously with limited direct supervision.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong expertise in COBOL, DYL280, DB2, CICS, and JCL within a z/OS environment.

• Understanding of z/OS, DB2 for z/OS, ISPF, TSO/E, VSAM, JCL, IBM Utilities, and PDS/PDSE dataset formats.

• Proven experience in the phases of the project life cycle, including analysis, design, programming, and implementation.

• Capability to coordinate project designs and implementation strategies for interfacing with distributed applications.

• Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.

• Proficiency in advanced oral English.

• Proficiency in advanced Spanish.

• Demonstrated resilience, emotional intelligence, and a commitment to agile delivery.

• Familiarity with cloud-native frameworks or AI coding assistants is preferred.
