Mainframe Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Engage in activities throughout the complete software development lifecycle, from gathering requirements to supporting final deployment, while adhering to agile methodologies.

• Become an integral part of the development team and take responsibility for work items in every Sprint.

• Conduct analysis, design, programming, testing, and activities related to requirements.

• Manage your own tasks and communicate any delays or obstacles to the team.

• Offer guidance and assistance to the developers within the team.

• Write and integrate software components following technical specifications.

• Identify, construct, and evaluate components to ensure they meet quality standards.

• Execute corrective and evolutionary maintenance on software components.

• Create technical documentation in line with contractual obligations.

• Integrate components with other team components using the designated tool for the project.

• Establish and configure the local development environment.

• Provide support to the IT team and client users.

• Carry out deliveries and integration testing in the client environment.

• Assist with software acceptance testing and deployment in client environments.

• Deliver training and knowledge transfer to the client.

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma.

• Preferred experience: 3 years in developing and maintaining systems within an IBM z/OS mainframe environment, focusing on COBOL, DB2, and CICS.

• Familiarity with Enterprise COBOL 4.0 or later.

• Proficiency in DB2 and SQL.

• Understanding of CICS execution plan analysis (maps, transactions, and VSAM).

• Knowledge of JCL, TSO/ISPF, and SDSF.

• Experience utilizing IBM tools: z/OS, RDz (or IDz), DB2, and MainView.

• Familiarity with Compuware tools: Xpediter, Abend-AID, and File-AID.

• Experience with BMC Control-M.

• Proficiency in Eccox QC-COBOL and QC-DB2.

• Familiarity with CA GEN and CA SCM.

• Understanding of configuration management (Endevor or similar).

• Knowledge of version control practices, code reviews, and technical documentation.

• Understanding of unit and integration testing principles.
