Mainframe Automation Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Execute automation tasks related to mainframe systems, specifically z/OS automation and operations.

• Assist in projects focused on automation migration.

• Engage in development using REXX programming language.

• Utilize TSO/ISPF and JCL in daily operations.

• Implement and provide support for the System Automation Policy Database (PDB).

• Work with NetView for z/OS, IBM System Automation for z/OS, and CA OPS/MVS tools.

• Participate in the startup and shutdown processes of z/OS systems, along with automation SMP/E activities.

• Aid in the configuration of fully automated IBM Z systems and the operations of Parallel Sysplex/mainframe systems.

• Generate high-quality technical communication and documentation.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 15 years of overall experience in relevant fields.

• More than 5 years of experience in a mainframe operations or support setting.

• Extensive knowledge of z/OS, TSO/ISPF, and JCL.

• Practical experience in REXX development.

• Familiarity with the System Automation Policy Database (PDB).

• Background in z/OS Automation Migration Projects.

• Experience using NetView for z/OS.

• Proficiency in IBM System Automation for z/OS.

• Knowledge of CA OPS/MVS.

• Excellent communication and documentation abilities.

• Preferred: experience with z/OS system startup/shutdown and automation SMP/E.

• Preferred: expertise in fully automated IBM Z system configurations.

• Preferred: experience with Parallel Sysplex and mainframe systems operations.

• Preferred: understanding of competing mainframe automation solutions.
