Loss Control Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Create, implement, and enhance loss-control programs for Trusts, Pools, and Associations.

• Perform evaluations of property and casualty loss-control, identifying risks across property, operations, vehicles, and facilities.

• Design and present loss-control and safety training sessions for small groups, large conferences, and online formats.

• Develop and manage a property appraisal system utilizing field data and electronic measuring tools.

• Analyze claims and loss data to spot trends and prioritize initiatives with the greatest impact.

• Establish trusted relationships with member organizations as a resource for risk management.

• Prepare and deliver quarterly reports on loss-control performance to governing boards and program managers.

• Oversee the budget for the Loss Control department.

• Collaborate with teams in claims, underwriting, and program administration.

• Lead special projects and initiatives as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in property and casualty insurance loss control, risk management, safety, or property inspection.

• Strong understanding of principles related to commercial property and casualty loss control.

• Familiarity with commercial property appraisal techniques and data gathering.

• Capability to independently perform field inspections, assess exposures, and formulate practical recommendations.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.

• Strong public speaking and presentation skills, comfortable addressing both small groups and large audiences.

• Analytical and mathematical skills, with the capacity to convey data insights to non-technical audiences.

• Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel regularly, including some overnight stays.

• Bachelor’s degree in risk management, insurance, safety, business, engineering, construction, public administration, or a related field (preferred).

• Experience with public entities, governmental organizations, school districts, or other institutional clients (preferred).

• Background in developing organizational safety or loss control programs (preferred).

• Experience presenting at conferences, professional associations, or board meetings (preferred).

• CPCU, ARM, CRM, CSP, or another relevant professional designation (preferred).
