Logistics Operations Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Implement day-to-day transportation operations for a designated area within the North America Logistics Team.

• Allocate and assign shipments to carriers using load planning and transportation management systems.

• Make spot market decisions when routing guide capacity is depleted or unavailable.

• Engage daily with carriers to identify and address service-related issues.

• Organize and consolidate LTL shipments into truckloads when applicable, while minimizing transportation costs.

• Track shipments to ensure timely pickups and deliveries.

• Assist shipping locations with urgent shipment arrangements and resolve any issues that arise.

• Act as a liaison between Sales/Customer Service, Plant Operations, and Procurement stakeholders.

• Contribute to SOP, training, KPI tracking, continuous improvement, and project activities.

• Oversee and manage load-level expenses, including reviewing and approving accessorial charges.

• Provide support for ad-hoc TMS system administration, including managing payable tariffs, rates, and routing guides.

• Serve as a backup for other logistics positions when necessary.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent qualification).

• 2-5 years of pertinent experience.

• Familiarity with transportation industries, logistics operations, and shipping/receiving procedures.

• Excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.

• Effective time management skills.

• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with team members.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or other relevant software applications.

• Working knowledge of a Transportation Management System, preferably E2Open.
