Logistics Coordinator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• Oversee the coordination of both domestic and international transportation bookings for patient leukapheresis collections, starting materials, intermediates, and finalized drug products.

• Arrange and confirm shipments with designated specialty logistics providers and courier partners.

• Ensure transportation plans align with manufacturing timelines, patient treatment schedules, and chain of identity/chain of custody protocols.

• Prepare and assess shipping documents, customs forms, and transportation guidelines.

• Confirm shipment readiness, including packaging, labeling, and documentation prior to dispatch.

• Track shipments from pickup to final delivery utilizing transportation management systems and courier tracking tools.

• Offer proactive management of essential patient shipments, focusing on timelines and temperature specifications.

• Investigate any transportation delays, route changes, temperature anomalies, and delivery complications.

• Coordinate corrective measures to mitigate patient impact.

• Maintain precise shipment records and tracking details.

• Act as the key contact for updates on shipment status.

• Facilitate communication among treatment centers, manufacturing sites, couriers, quality assurance teams, scheduling departments, and patient operations groups.

• Manage escalation processes for critical transportation occurrences.

• Participate in daily operational meetings and present shipment status updates.

• Ensure that logistics operations adhere to GDP, GMP, GxP, IATA, DOT, and relevant regulatory standards.

• Keep chain of identity and chain of custody documentation up to date.

• Assist in deviation investigations and root cause analyses.

• Contribute to the development of SOPs, process enhancements, and continuous improvement efforts.

• Monitor logistics performance metrics and support the implementation of corrective and preventive actions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Some relevant experience is required.

• Background in cell and gene therapy, biopharmaceuticals, clinical trials, or healthcare logistics is preferred.

• Understanding of chain of custody and chain of identity regulations.

• Familiarity with cryogenic and temperature-sensitive transportation methods.

• Experience handling international shipments and customs documentation.

• Proficiency with transportation management systems (TMS) or logistics control tower operations.

• Strong attention to detail is essential.

• Commitment to customer and patient satisfaction.

• A sense of urgency in task completion.

• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.

• Ability to collaborate across various functions.
