This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.
• Utilize independent judgment and discretion in managing or directing litigated claims.
• Service claims and jurisdictions located in eastern Pennsylvania.
• Conduct investigations, assess coverage, liability, and formulate resolution strategies.
• Choose, engage, and work collaboratively with defense counsel for lawsuit management.
• Oversee litigation expenses and ensure compliance with ERIE's billing guidelines by defense counsel.
• Direct the use of Outside Counsel Guidelines by defense counsels to ensure compliance.
• Provide training and mentorship to team members.
• Maintain thorough documentation of claim files.
• Ensure regular and predictable attendance.
• A Bachelor’s degree with six years of experience in litigation claims or legal context, or equivalent experience, is required.
• An Associate degree or paralegal certification with eight years of experience in litigation claims or legal context, is required.
• A high school diploma or GED with ten years of experience in litigation claims or legal context, is required.
• Strong understanding of claims handling is necessary.
• Extensive knowledge of tort law and insurance coverage is required.
• Appropriate state-required licensing is necessary.
• A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record are required.
• Candidates located near ERIE's Allentown Branch or Philadelphia Claims Office are preferred.
• AIC or SCLA designation is preferred.
