Litigation Attorney – Special Investigations Unit

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with the Claims/Special Investigation Unit to address fraudulent claims in No-Fault and various other cases.

• Research, prepare, file, and litigate fraud cases, including RICO and other affirmative actions.

• Formulate litigation strategies on legal issues.

• Review case files and devise resolutions.

• Draft discovery requests, motions, memorandums, and legal briefs.

• Prepare for and conduct depositions and Examinations Under Oath.

• Participate in arbitrations, mediations, and trials.

• Collaborate with expert witnesses to prepare for or defend litigation.

• Represent the company in conferences and hearings in both State and Federal courts.

• Draft pre-trial and post-trial motions.

• Negotiate settlements and prepare associated documentation.

• Manage and oversee intermediate-level litigation matters.

• No supervisory responsibilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Juris Doctorate degree.

• Active membership in good standing with the New York State Bar.

• Federal Court Admission or the capacity to seek admission upon selection for this position.

• A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.

• Capability to manage and oversee intermediate-level litigation matters.

• Proficient legal research and writing skills.

• Skilled in Microsoft Office and other related computer applications.

• Ability to exercise discretion and uphold confidentiality.

• Strong ethics and integrity.

• Familiarity with legal holds and discovery processes.

• Team-oriented mindset conducive to collaboration.

• Background investigation is required.

• A dedicated, distraction-free home workspace.

• Suitable desk and seating arrangements for remote work.

• Reliable internet connection with minimum speeds of 50 MB download and 5 MB upload.
