This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Evaluate coverage and eligibility for plan members or their dependents.

• Validate the contract provisions applicable to each claim.

• Confirm enrolment details and beneficiary information.

• Examine documentation related to proof of death.

• Assess accompanying medical, police, and investigative reports.

• Compute eligible benefits.

• Create necessary claims system records for the processing and payment of claims.

• Communicate outcomes to claimants, beneficiaries, and group clients.

• Aid plan sponsors with inquiries regarding beneficiary appointments and claim submissions.

• Assist beneficiaries and their families in obtaining required documentation.

• Report directly to the Associate Manager, Life Claims.

• Evaluate Group Life, AD&D, Survivor Income claims, and Compassionate Assistance Program Loans.


⛳️ Requirements

• Experience in the insurance sector, ideally in Group Benefits and Life/Disability claims.

• Familiarity with medical terminology and contract interpretation.

• Excellent communication, judgment, analytical, organizational, and decision-making abilities.

• Capacity to exhibit empathy and deliver outstanding client service.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel).

• Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently or in a team setting.

• Flexible, risk-aware, and capable of thriving in a dynamic environment.

• Bilingualism in English and French is an advantage; proficiency in both languages is mandatory for candidates in Québec to assist clients from various provinces outside Quebec.
