Liability Claims Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Oversee uncomplicated and straightforward Liability claims under the direct guidance of a senior claims expert.

• Manage simple medical-only claims and minor lost-time liability claims with close supervision.

• Handle litigated cases with assigned limited authority.

• Receive claims, confirming policy coverage and acknowledgment of the claim.

• Assess claim validity and compensability.

• Set reserves and authorize payments within the limits of reserving authority.

• Update customers, claimants, and clients on claim status.

• Follow client and carrier guidelines, participating in claims reviews as necessary.

• Work collaboratively with team members on more intricate or problematic claims.

• Adhere to safety rules and regulations during work hours in alignment with the Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP).

• Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience in the industry and claims management is preferred.

• A current Adjuster’s License in the state of operation is required.

• A Multi-State license is preferred.

• A Bachelor's degree or a combination of education and relevant experience.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Quick learner with the ability to develop knowledge and understanding of claims practices.

• Strong problem identification, analysis, and solving skills.

• Proficiency in computers and technical aptitude.

• Capability to use Microsoft Office, including Excel spreadsheets.

• Strong interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills.

• Ability to meet or surpass performance expectations.

• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team setting.
