Liability Claims Examiner

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Conduct investigations and resolve liability as well as first-party and third-party claims.

• Make determinations regarding liability and coverage.

• Assess and negotiate settlements related to collisions, specified perils, property damage, and liability losses.

• Oversee and manage the activities of external adjusters, appraisers, and experts.

• Initiate contact with insured parties and claimants following established protocols.

• Identify coverage issues and escalate them to the supervisor.

• Cultivate a foundational understanding of liability and coverage principles.

• Acknowledge state-specific laws and regulations surrounding claims.

• Conduct research to ascertain market values for automobiles and heavy equipment.

• Summarize findings and provide recommendations for claims exceeding individual settlement authority.

• Address time-sensitive materials, including intercompany arbitration hearings.

• Maintain a diary system to systematically review and resolve claims.

• Keep state licenses current by completing continuing education requirements.

• Manage small claim lawsuits as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• 2-5 years of experience in auto physical damage, inland marine cargo, dealers' open lot, property damage (commercial and homeowners), and general liability.

• High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.

• A Bachelor’s degree is preferred.

• Experience with Lloyd’s of London is an advantage.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

• Familiarity with Xactimate is required.

• Must be able to obtain licenses in necessary states or countries.

• AIC designation is preferred.
