Liability Adjuster

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Utilize independent discretion and judgment in managing claims that involve intricate liability matters, including coverage questions and minor injury claims.

• Perform investigations and assess information to provide recommendations regarding coverage and liability.

• Establish and uphold reserves.

• Gather documents necessary to determine claim value.

• Negotiate settlements or reject claims as appropriate.

• Maintain documentation of files and submit comprehensive reports.

• Recognize subrogation opportunities and take appropriate actions.

• Engage in negotiations with all parties or their representatives within assigned authority.

• Complete mandatory training sessions.

• Provide training and mentorship to others.

• Ensure regular and predictable attendance.

• Manage New York claims remotely within the ERIE operating area.

⛳️ Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.

• A minimum of two years of claims or customer service experience is required, with a preference for casualty claims experience.

• Equivalent educational qualifications will be accepted.

• Appropriate licenses as mandated by the state(s) of operation are necessary.

• An Associate's or Bachelor's degree is preferred.

• Consistent and reliable attendance is essential.

• Capability to perform frequent manual keying, data entry, and computer operations.

• Ability to occasionally lift or move items weighing 0–20 lbs and 20–50 lbs.

• Occasional driving may be necessary.
