Liability Adjuster

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Utilize independent judgment and discretion in managing claims that involve intricate liability matters, including coverage and minor injury claims.

• Conduct thorough investigations, assess coverage and liability, and provide recommendations.

• Establish and maintain reserves.

• Acquire documents necessary to determine the value of claims.

• Negotiate settlements or reject claims as appropriate.

• Maintain detailed documentation of files and submit comprehensive final reports.

• Recognize subrogation opportunities and take suitable action.

• Engage in negotiations with all relevant parties or their representatives within the designated authority.

• Complete all mandated training.

• Provide training and mentorship to others.

• Primarily manage claims for Maryland, the District of Columbia, or West Virginia, with potential claims in additional jurisdictions.

⛳️ Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.

• A minimum of two years of experience in claims or customer service is essential, ideally with a focus on casualty claims.

• Equivalent educational experience will be taken into account.

• Required licenses as dictated by the states of operation.

• Capability to manage claims for MD, DC, WV, and possibly other jurisdictions.

• Consistent and reliable attendance is expected.

• Ability to complete all necessary training.

• Proficiency in frequent manual keying, data entry, information input, and computer operation.

• Capacity to occasionally lift or move items weighing 0–20 lbs and 20–50 lbs.

• Occasional driving may be required.

• An Associate's or Bachelor's degree is preferred.
