Legal Researcher

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Draft and assess agreements with partners and vendors.

• Recognize critical contract issues and assist in negotiations through to execution.

• Conduct research on federal and state regulations, consumer protection, insurance, privacy, and various legal inquiries.

• Convert research outcomes into actionable recommendations for business leaders.

• Assist with licenses and ongoing regulatory obligations.

• Aid in developing systems to maintain up-to-date licensing and regulatory requirements.

• Review product features, workflows, and processes alongside Product, Engineering, and Operations teams.

• Interpret legal requirements to inform product decisions.

• Examine intricate consumer escalations and regulatory inquiries.

• Determine root causes and potential legal concerns.

• Suggest scalable solutions and transform recurring issues into company-wide compliance training.

• Create and enhance legal and compliance policies, procedures, and operational controls.

• Address emerging legal and regulatory challenges as Jerry launches new products, forms partnerships, and expands operations.

• Present analyses and recommendations to Legal and business leadership.

• Monitor open items, deadlines, filings, and necessary follow-ups.

⛳️ Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) or Master of Laws (LLM).

• Proven track record of high academic achievement.

• Experience in drafting or reviewing contracts through academic coursework, clinics, internships, or professional work.

• Excellent legal research and writing abilities.

• Capability to distill complex analyses into clear, actionable recommendations.

• Strong organizational and project management skills.

• Ability to handle multiple matters and meet deadlines concurrently.

• Must currently reside in AZ, CA, CO, FL, GA, IL, MA, NC, NJ, NV, NY, OR, TN, TX, UT, VA, or Ontario, Canada.

• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. or Canada.

• Must be able to work as a full-time salaried employee.
