Legal Research Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ukraine.

📋 Description

• Conduct legal research across various jurisdictions, focusing on contractor and partner engagement models, entity structuring, employment law, and commercial law.

• Draft and update contract templates, including consulting agreements, teaching assistant agreements, statements of work, amendments, and termination agreements.

• Develop jurisdiction-specific variations of contracts.

• Review counterparty contracts and highlight significant terms.

• Establish and manage the legal register that covers ongoing matters, deadlines, obligations, renewals, and filings.

• Define the scope and brief external counsel, compile briefing materials, monitor costs and timelines, and assess the advice provided by counsel.

• Assist with entity formation, restructuring, and market-entry due diligence.

• Maintain approved communication templates and FAQs for teams collaborating with instructors.

• Create systems to enable a small legal team to effectively support a rapidly growing company.

⛳️ Requirements

• A law degree accompanied by 2–4 years of relevant legal experience — whether in private practice, in-house, or in legal services.

• Exceptional written English skills.

• Demonstrated legal research capabilities, including in unfamiliar legal systems.

• Ability to discern when local counsel is necessary and how to articulate the questions needed for them.

• Experience in contract drafting and redlining.

• Prudent and verified use of AI research tools.

• Comfort dealing with ambiguity.

• Proactive in transforming vague business inquiries into well-defined legal questions.

• Genuine interest in the operational aspects of the business.

• Experience with cross-border contractor or freelancer engagement models (preferred).

• Background in employment or labor law (preferred).

• Admission to the bar in your home jurisdiction (preferred).

• Knowledge of data protection regulations, including GDPR and POPIA (preferred).

• Experience in a distributed, remote-first work environment (preferred).
