Legal Recruiter – Expert Witness

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Sustain, enhance, and strategically develop Dane Street’s network of specialized expert witnesses.

• Identify and onboard expert witnesses, including but not limited to physicians, economists, biomechanical engineers, accident reconstructionists, life care planners, and ballistics experts.

• Negotiate retention fees in accordance with pre-established guidelines.

• Ensure prompt resolution of all open service requests.

• Comprehend client requirements, case constraints, and turnaround time deadlines to negotiate terms of expert witness agreements.

• Research and source niche specialists in fields such as engineering, finance, forensics, and science.

• Onboard expert witnesses and gather necessary documentation, including CVs, specialized certifications, fee schedules, W9s, and background checks.

• Maintain records of experts, fee schedules, profiles, and their active/inactive statuses.

• Collaborate with the Director of Operations to finalize specialized fee structures.

• Lead intricate negotiations and contract renewals for high-priority expert witnesses.

• Address sensitive or urgent client requests that involve rare specialties or tight legal discovery deadlines.

• Assist expert reviewers with technical onboarding, portal training, and case-specific inquiries.

• Fulfill high-priority open service requests by sourcing and qualifying specialized professionals, providing daily internal progress updates.

• Work in conjunction with operations to align the expert network with upcoming pipeline demands.

• Support cross-functional staffing or panel projects as assigned by leadership.

• Stay updated on industry trends, evidentiary standards like Daubert/Frye compliance, and legal/insurance operations.


⛳️ Requirements

• Preferred: Associate's or Bachelor's degree.

• 3–5 years of specialized recruiting experience, preferably within an expert network firm, litigation support agency, insurance defense firm, or legal staffing environment.

• Proven success in sourcing non-traditional, highly technical roles such as engineers, financial analysts, and scientists.

• Strong investigative research and sourcing abilities using LinkedIn, academic publications, professional associations, and industry registries.

• In-depth understanding of professional credentials, technical CVs, and distinctions among scientific and technical fields.

• Excellent skills in negotiation, contract communication, and relationship management.

• Familiarity with legal, insurance, or forensic terminology.

• High proficiency in applicant tracking systems, CRM platforms, and Microsoft Office.

• Must provide and maintain reliable, high-speed internet.

• An uninterrupted internet connection is a requirement.
