Staff Attorney

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +24 more states.

📋 Description

• Support the Chief Legal Officer and Associate General Counsel at Navitus with various legal matters.

• Create legal documents and templates as needed.

• Conduct legal research and perform analysis.

• Manage corporate legal records and document templates.

• Carry out records research efficiently.

• Prepare legal correspondence and related materials.

• Investigate and analyze statutes, judicial decisions, legal articles, contracts, and legal codes.

• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts on behalf of the organization.

• Compose memorandums and other correspondence.

• Contribute to the development of new legal changes at Navitus and offer guidance on legal matters.

• Provide legal advice to Navitus staff regarding the implications of business objectives and relevant policies and practices.

• Organize and file legal documents and correspondence in both digital and physical filing systems.

• Develop methods for indexing and managing legal documents and contracts.

• Assist other departments with contract, business operations, and regulatory affairs issues.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• A law degree from an ABA accredited program is preferred.

• A valid license to practice law is required.

• Some experience in a law firm or an in-house legal department is essential.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary to engage tactfully and effectively with internal and external stakeholders on sensitive and complex matters.

• Proficiency in using a personal computer with advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat.

• Commitment to participate in, adhere to, and support compliance program objectives.

• Ability to consistently interact cooperatively and respectfully with colleagues.
