This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.
• Oversee the Commercial Legal initiatives for the EMEA region and act as the primary legal advisor to regional leadership.
• Collaborate with EMEA executives on business strategies and major commercial and operational decisions.
• Provide legal counsel to EMEA leadership and national teams.
• Support initiatives related to growth, market entry, distribution models, product launches, pricing strategies, promotions, strategic accounts, and business transformation.
• Direct legal assistance for significant regional contracts, which include distribution and dealer agreements, public tenders, strategic accounts, services, software and digital solutions, as well as partnerships with dental professionals and institutions.
• Identify and evaluate significant legal risks throughout the EMEA region.
• Work alongside Regulatory, Compliance and Ethics, Privacy, Intellectual Property, Operations Legal, Employment, Tax, and Corporate Legal teams.
• Manage substantial EMEA commercial disputes and administrative issues, which encompass strategy, outside counsel, financial exposure, and reporting.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a geographically dispersed legal team across the EMEA region.
• Handle high-volume, fast-paced matters while ensuring quality, responsiveness, and appropriate escalation procedures.
• Provide EMEA perspectives to global Commercial Legal objectives and standardized practices.
• Advise Procurement and business teams on purchasing, supply, and service agreements, including drafting, negotiation, and contractual risks.
• Independently evaluate complex legal, commercial, and operational risks.
• Offer recommendations, practical alternatives, constructive feedback, and determine when specialized input or escalation is necessary.
• Juris Doctor degree and qualification to practice law in an EMEA jurisdiction or an equivalent professional standing.
• At least 15 years of relevant legal experience, including considerable in-house experience and multi-country responsibility within the EMEA region.
• Proven experience leading legal teams and managing complex cross-border legal matters.
• Experience in talent development and effective collaboration across diverse cultures, time zones, and reporting structures.
• Strong track record of advising international sales teams and negotiating intricate commercial agreements.
• Ability to translate legal concepts into practical options, articulate business risk in understandable terms, and provide constructive challenges.
• Familiarity with digital products, distribution channels, public procurement processes, and interactions with healthcare professionals is beneficial.
• Preferred experience in medical devices, healthcare, or other regulated industries within the EMEA region.
• Proficiency in professional English is mandatory.
• Knowledge of German is highly regarded.
• Proficiency in additional EMEA languages is advantageous.
• Must have the legal right to work in the country where the position is located.
