Legal Counsel

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Prepare, assess, negotiate, and provide guidance on both custom and standard contracts for commercial transactions, which include master services agreements, statements of work, vendor contracts, and NDAs.

• Oversee state entity filings, annual reports, and registered agent responsibilities for U.S. entities.

• Assist with corporate governance activities.

• Collaborate with the data privacy team on privacy and data protection matters, including U.S. state privacy regulations and GDPR, as well as data processing agreements.

• Offer daily legal support to sales, engineering, operations, product, IT, marketing, HR, finance, and relationship management teams.

• Develop and sustain contract templates, playbooks, and processes to enable legal and sales teams to efficiently close deals.

• Communicate with customers, suppliers, insurers, and external consultants both in the U.S. and internationally.

• Work in conjunction with the broader global legal team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited U.S. law school.

• Active law license in good standing in at least one U.S. state.

• Must fulfill any in-house counsel registration requirements in the state of residence.

• 1–3 years of experience working in-house.

• Strong background in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, including technology, software, and SaaS agreements.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage a diverse array of issues.

• Experience providing support to sales teams.

• Proven track record of collaborating with stakeholders across various functions.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

• Capacity to assess legal risks in relation to business objectives and offer practical, commercially-focused counsel.

• Keen attention to detail.

• Preferred: experience in intellectual property, privacy and data protection, information security terms, or employment law.

• Preferred: international experience.
